Program Design
Our program is designed – in today’s business environment which makes it difficult commit to traditional long term mentoring relationships – to maximize opportunities for both mentees and mentors.
- Topic and event driven
- Brief commitments
- Opportunity for multiple mentor-mentee relationships
Possible Topics
Aimed at giving the mentee a purposeful set of tools to apply to the challenge of being an HR vice president. This list is a work in progress, and we invite input from our members.

Dealing with the Comp Committee
Dealing with the CEO
Large scale organizational transitions
Highly leveraged opportunities for organizational improvement
Creating a change agenda
Personal agenda for the first 90 days on the VP HR job
Managing across white spaces
Format
- Event
- A panel of mentors discusses the topic and shares experience, ideas, key learnings, best practices, etc.
- Mentees have the opportunity to interact with mentors and each other through group discussion, small groups, etc.
- Mentors and mentees arrange with each other for follow-up.
- As part of this arrangement, mentors and mentees may agree on an action learning agenda for each mentee.
- Follow Up
- Mentors make themselves available for follow up by phone and email for a set period – perhaps 30 - 60 days.
- Mentees initiate contact with mentors to discuss their action learning agenda, questions, etc.
