Homa Bahrami, PhD

Dr. Homa Bahrami is an international educator, advisor, board member and author, specializing in dynamic approaches to organizational adaptation & team effectiveness in global, knowledge-based businesses. She is a Senior Lecturer at the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley, where she has been on the faculty since 1986. Her global perspective on business strategy, combined with her creative, dynamic style of engaging business and HR leaders, make her a highly sought after thought leader for HR strategy sessions in knowledge based industries around the world.
Homa is the co-author of a major textbook (with Harold Leavitt) Managerial Psychology: Managing Behavior in Organizations, published by the University of Chicago Press, and translated into many languages. Her latest book. Super-Flexibility for Knowledge Enterprises, published by Springer (co-authored with Stuart Evans from Cambridge University) focuses on dynamic approaches for strategizing, organizing and leading knowledge enterprises and knowledge workers in turbulent, international markets.
Homa’s work focuses on how to create the capacity for continuous adaptation; how to design super-flexible organizational architectures; and how to develop and lead agile and resilient teams; her Haas courses include executive MBA electives on dynamic approaches to international business and organizational effectiveness, and a series of customized workshops taught for a broad range of global companies at the Haas Center for Executive Development (CED). Homa serves on several boards in Silicon Valley and Europe and is active in executive education and executive development in the US, Europe, and Asia. She works with executive teams on complex re-organizations, enterprise transitions, and team effectiveness, and with HR & OD professionals on executive development and learning interventions.

Deborah Barber

Deborah Barber is a Principal with the Jackson Hole Group, a San Francisco-based consulting practice focused on Human Capital Management. With a 25-year career in senior human resources and corporate services management, she is recognized among her peers as one of the Bay Area's leading business strategists in the HR profession. In 2000 Deborah was awarded the Human Resource Symposium's first annual Excellence Award for leadership in the Human Resources field in the San Francisco Bay Area. She currently serves on the Advisory Board of the HR Forums.
Since her retirement as Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Corporate Services, Aspect Communications, Deborah has built a consulting practice that specializes in working with senior executives to solve their strategic and operational-level human resources and their leadership and organizational development issues.
In her Senior VP of HR role at Aspect, Deborah was responsible for leading Aspect's Human Resources operations, staffing, compensation, management and organizational development, facilities, real estate, environmental health and safety, and corporate services worldwide. She was actively involved in orchestrating the transformation of Aspect Communications from a hardware telecommunication equipment supplier to a provider of software solutions in the customer relationship management (CRM) marketplace, a major organizational and cultural transformation.
Before joining Aspect in 1998, Deborah was Vice President of Human Resources and Worldwide Real Estate and Corporate Services for Quantum Corporation, building a global human resources and facilities and real estate function to support its rapid growth over a six-year period. She was actively engaged in leading key initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions (most importantly, the acquisition of Digital Equipment Corporation's Storage Works business, which expanded the workforce by an additional 10,000 employees); restructuring operations to achieve cost efficiencies with eroding margins in a growing commodities business; launching new business startups; and revitalizing a core value system and culture, thus creating a employment brand around an “Extraordinary Environment with Extraordinary People.” Deborah was previously Vice President of Human Resources at Cray Research, Inc. and also held senior human resources leadership positions at Honeywell Inc.

Sonia Clark

Sonia Clark is Vice President of Human Resources for Align Technology, reporting to Tom Prescott, President and CEO. She is
responsible for ensuring that the company employs, develops and retains the top employees in the medical devises industry globally.
Prior to coming to coming to Align, Sonia successfully spearheaded the HR divestiture of Avago Technologies from Agilent Technologies. Avago, with $1.8 billion in revenue and 6500 employees, is the largest privately held semiconductor company in the world.
While at Agilent Sonia implemented the talent development process for SPG as the Chief Learning Officer. Prior to joining Agilent she was Vice President of Human Resources for Cadence Design Systems where she implemented worldwide organizational development programs for 5,700+ employees. She led the talent development processes, globalized HR business practices, and reestablished Cadence core competencies. She was instrumental in successful HR integration of numerous complex mergers and acquisitions.
Sonia received her bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology from California State University Northridge, and earned
certifications in numerous organizational development programs.

Spencer Clark

Spencer Clark recently retired as Chief Learning Officer of Cadence Design Systems, the industry leader in the electronic design automation space. In this role he built Cadence University to drive global implementation of technical, professional, executive and leadership development. He was also responsible for implementing an organizational development practice within the Cadence culture and the development and integration of an explicit talent development program into the Cadence succession planning process.
Spencer’s background is a blend of practical business experiences combined with a strategic formal education in support of his professional objectives. He has earned roles as President, Chief Operating Officer and General Manager with Fortune 100 companies including General Electric, Litton Industries and Black & Decker, as well as serving small privately run companies.
Committed to facilitating people in the process of their professional development, Spencer has acquired additional expertise in the deployment of 360° feedback programs, change management, and executive coaching.
For the five years preceding Cadence, he was President of his own consulting company using his skills to improve the performance in a variety of industries and disciplines, including Power, Defense, Human Performance, Security, and Manufacturing.
Spencer holds degrees in mathematics and physics, an MBA, an Executive MBA, and is an accredited Professional Nuclear Engineer. He has completed GE’s prestigious multi-year Leadership Development Program at the Crotenville Learning Center. The Crotenville experience became Spencer’s inspiration for his current role as CLO of Cadence and the foundation of his enduring passion to contribute to the building of great companies.
Spencer is a member of the Board of Directors for the Zhongguancun-Cadence Institute of Software Technology, the Advisory Board for Leavy School of Business Santa Clara University, Board of Directors for Project Hired Inc, RFI Enterprises.

Marianne Jackson

Marianne Jackson's career spans 25+ years in the Human Resource management field, working primarily for high technology companies. Her areas of expertise include organizational effectiveness, executive coaching, workforce optimization, strategic planning and culture shaping. For the last five years she has held the position of Senior Vice President, Human Resources & Communications for Blue Shield of California; one of the three largest health plans in the state.
Prior to Blue Shield Marianne held the position of Senior Vice President and Vice President of Human Resources for Palm Inc., Cisco Systems, SanDisk Corporation and Logitech. She has also held executive leadership positions with Silicon Graphics and Sun Microsystems.
Marianne holds bachelor degrees in Psychology and Sociology from the University of California. She also completed graduate course work from the University of Santa Clara in Counseling Psychology. She has held board positions with Catholic Charities, Santa Clara University and San Jose State University advisory board for the Business School/Human Resources.

Steven Rice

Steven Rice and his HR organization at Juniper Networks support 5,000 employees in 72 countries. Under his guidance Juniper's primary HR initiative has been to accelerate performance through exceptional leadership capabilities and employee engagement. With more than two decades of experience in leading HR organizations, including executive roles at HP, he is recognized among his peers as a forward looking innovator and pathfinder in the HR profession. He was a featured panelist at the 2007 HR Symposium.
Steven directly oversees all of Juniper's HR functions and programs: leadership and employee development, recruitment, total rewards, workforce planning, as well as Real Estate and Work Place Services. He also chairs the Juniper Foundation, which supports children, education and lifelong learning in the communities where Juniper has a significant employee and customer presence.
Prior to joining Juniper in 2006, Steven worked at Hewlett Packard since 1981. During his 25-year tenure, he served in many different HR organizations including VP of HR for the Americas. His last position at HP was as VP, HR, Global Operations, an organization responsible for more than 900 HR employees around the world in EMEA, APAC and the Americas.

Jeff Rosenthal

Jeff Rosenthal is a member of Russell Reynolds' Corporate Officers Sector. Based in San Francisco, he focuses on conducting human resources executive searches.
Most recently, Jeff was Senior Vice President for Blessing White, Inc., a leadership consulting and training firm. He was responsible for all aspects of business development, consulting and operations for the Western United States and Asia-Pacific region. Previously, he served as Director of Account Management and Business Development for Watson Wyatt, a global human resources consulting firm. Prior to that, he was a Senior Account Executive with The Forum Corporation. There, he led teams that implemented programs in leadership development, sales productivity and quality improvement. He began his career with IBM as a Marketing Representative.
Jeff is a member of the Board of Directors of Summer Search Foundation, a non-profit organization serving high-potential, low-income high school youth. He has also served as a Visiting Lecturer at the Haas School of Business at U.C. Berkeley. Jeff received his B.A. in mathematics and psychology from Whitman College and his M.B.A. in organization and strategic studies from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA.
